The fans of Clarksville, Ohio experienced a night full of action, drama, and twisting turns when Midwest Premier Wrestling's Midwest Showdown rolled into town Saturday, April 19, 2014.
Triple Threat Match: Mike Brody vs Draven Valentine vs Matt Vengeance
The show kicked off when Draven Valentine, Mike Brody, and Matt Vengeance faced off with each other in triple threat action with Vengeance pulling through with a big win.
Winner: Matt Vengeance
Hustle And Muscle W/ "B.S." Barry Stevens vs Showtime James Jordan and Jordan Lachey
Then on to the much anticipated confrontation between Showtime James Jordan and "B.S." Barry Stevens and his client Mark Magnum. Magnum and Stevens initially came ringside to rant about the loss he suffered to Showtime in February and demanded a rematch. This prompted Showtime to come out from backstage to answer Magnum's challenge. But the challenge turned out to be a ploy to lure Showtime out to the ring so Stevens and Magnum could attack the reality tv star. And as if insult to injury wasn't already added, Cedric Blackhawk made a run in giving the appearance that he would put a stop to the atrocity but instead added to Showtime's beat down and in turn announced a new alliance with Magnum which they called Hustle and Muscle. However where Cedric refused to do the right thing the very heated Jordan Lachey would not. And made his way out to the ring to put a stop to the nonsense. Lachey proceeded show his readiness to go to war by clearing the ring and making a challenge to Hustle and Muscle for an impromptu tag team match. A match that Hustle and Muscle would come out victorious in after Barry Stevens managed to distract referee Joe Kopasz long enough for Cedric to deliver a low blow to the already battered Showtime and sneak in the win.
Winners: Hustle And Muscle
Later, the lovely and young up and comer Lynasia came to ring side to hype the Clarksville crowd up for more action only to be interrupted yet once again by Barry Stevens who had the sole intent to harass her until she gave him an apology for slapping him across the face back in February. But Lynasia stood her ground and refused an apology which warranted Stevens to grab her up and attempt to swing on her with his golf club. Luckily Mary Elizabeth Monroe wasted no more time to make her long awaited return to the Ohio wrestling scene after a two year absence and rushed to the ring to intervene on Stevens' bullying of Lynasia. Stevens taunted Mary Elizabeth for being gone for so long but she made it clear that her absence from Ohio wasn't due to any lack of heart but rather to avoid poor excuses for wrestling workers like himself and assured Stevens that no such terrorizing of a fellow lady would go down on her watch. She then vowed to take Lynasia under her wing and better equip her with the self confidence and skill needed to keep from being walked over like that and they both made their way to leave the ring together. But Stevens feeling insulted screamed at the two insisting that he wasn't finished with them and grabbed Mary Elizabeth by her arm. She quickly responded with her other forearm flying directly into his mouth followed by a couple more, sending Stevens straight to the mat. As the two ladies departed Stevens who was just waking back up from Mary Elizabeth's retaliation vowed that he would now seek revenge by bringing a surprise for the two when Midwest Showdown returns to Clarksville May 17.
Andrew Turner W/ Ken Kross vs JRoc
Ken Kross came to ringside to let the fans know that since Rampage who he had a special surprise waiting for didn't show up to Midwest Showdown (due to an injury), he would then direct his new weapon on a new target. And that target being JRoc. And the new weapon being Andrew Turner from Ontario, Canada. These two men fought a hard battle that was by far one of the highlights of the night. With JRoc taking the win against Turner despite Ken Kross' interference.
Winner: JRoc
MPW Tag Team Invitational
Chronick & Wattz vs Jesse Sinclair & Nicholas Davidson vs The Queen City Killers vs The Shamrock Saints
Before the match commenced The Shamrock Saint Ryan O'Bryan pointed out that Jesse Sinclair was missing his partner. However Sinclair corrected O'Bryan by telling him that his partner was standing before them as they spoke. His partner was HIS GORGEOUSNESS! At this point all teams involved looked on as if Sinclair had lost his mind. But Kira Bangkok interupted the spectacle to tell The Gorgeous One that "Mama has this covered" by providing him with a tag team partner for the invitational. It was revealed that Nicholas Davidson will fill the spot. The match up was full of jaw dropping action that Clarksville, Ohio almost certainly has never witnessed before. From corkscrews off the top, to moonsults to the outside this invitational set records across the board. And one that gave referee Skeeter Muldoon a serious run for his money when trying to officiate. In the end the Shamrock Saints squeezed the win amidst all of the four teams competing for the bragging right. But no time was left for the Saints to celebrate. Directly after the match the Queen City Killers who were very upset with the win that the Saints sneaked by them rushed back into the ring and delivered an unexpected attack to the Saints from behind. Forcing security and officials to intervene and even carry the injured Saints to the back.
Winners: Shamrock Saints
Main Event
Robbie Raynes vs Ryan Michaels
This match up was easily worth its main event status. Raynes went in focused and determined to deliver a punishment to Michaels and did just that. Not to Say Michaels didn't deliver one back to Raynes as well. At one point even slamming Raynes on the hard Auditorium floor outside of the ring which made a noise heard throughout the building. Unfortunately Raynes' determination wasn't enough to top the dirty tactics of Michaels who caused the referee to be knocked out and took the advantage of using his sledge hammer to get the upper hand which led to a pinfall win. But Frank Hughes stepped in right after the match and swore to Michaels that a rematch would take place May 17. And this time MPW would add an insurance policy in the form of Michaels' old foe JRoc to prevent any weapons from being used and thus giving Raynes a fair chance to yet still get his retribution.
MPW returns to the Clarksville Auditorium for another Midwest Showdown Saturday, May 17, 2014. Doors open at 6pm with a bell time at 630pm.
